Do you know your GOP County Chair and Precinct Chair? Most Grayson County Republicans don't, and that means our local Party needs to be doing more.

In thousands of doorstep conversations with Grayson County Republicans, I have never had someone tell me that they are concerned that their local GOP is too bold or aggressive in defending, and working to advance, our principles and values. I have heard many express concern that they don't see their party leadership act with conviction or seriousness about the vital issues of our day. Underlying my efforts as chairman will be the intent to inspire our voters and make sure that GCRP is a party they are proud to be associated with. I will start with these three primary priorities:

1. Make the GCRP more visible, accessible and relevant to Grayson voters.

Our party needs to be visible, accessible, and relevant at the county level and in our communities at the precinct level. Communicating across the county in a consistent way at the county and precinct level about local elections, and vital issues, will motivate involvement and engagement with Republican voters. As chairman, I will be actively involved in the work of the party and available and responsive to constituents and precinct chairs. And it's time for the GCRP to commit to a permanent headquarters in Sherman.

2. Elect Republicans to every position on every ballot cast anywhere in Grayson County.

As our county grows, reducing Democrat footholds in local non-partisan elections is a vital part of keeping Grayson conservative. A good ground game in our precincts will enable us to evaluate local races, identify candidates, and inform (and be informed by) our voters. From the local school board to the President of the United States, the worldview of those representing us in office matters. We will end the hands-off approach to local races.

3. Prepare the next generation of Grayson County Republicans

Over 40% of Grayson's Republican primary voters are over 65. With the growth we're seeing in the county, that is going to change. Younger generations have been heavily targeted by the left, but I've met some fantastic young conservatives in Grayson County. As Chairman I will lead GCRP to work with organizations like Young Republicans to promote local clubs and activities. We need to encourage more young people to participate in GOP activities and events in Grayson County.
