Retired Electrical Engineer, Conservative Activist, Former Grayson County Precinct Chairman, former Texas House Candidate, and co-founder of Grayson County Conservatives, Brent Lawson, officially launches his campaign for Chairman of the Grayson County Republican Party (GCRP).

“The rapid growth and change in Grayson County require increased focus and energy from our Republican County Chair. It’s time to abandon the ‘hands off’ approach to local races and commit to supporting Republican candidates throughout Grayson County. In recent years we have seen democrats gain positions that could have gone to Republican candidates with very little effort from our local Party. We need to do better,” said Lawson.

A native Texan making Grayson County his home since 2005 Lawson has served at Republican Precinct, County and State conventions for many years. He has previously served as the GOP Precinct Chair for precinct 207, chaired the Grayson County Republican Party Keep Texas Red committee, and volunteered at events promoting the GCRP and Republican candidates. Lawson has been active in local grassroots conservative groups. He co-founded the Grayson County Conservatives organization to bring greater focus to local and state politics for Grayson conservatives.

“My career of effective problem solving and organizational leadership, along with my political experiences, provide excellent preparation for leading the GCRP Executive Committee. Serving and encouraging the grassroots through the unambiguous promotion of Republican principles, respect for our Republican Party of Texas Platform, and for our constituents is all central to the mission of the GCRP to elect bold conservatives who share our principles and values. The GCRP executive committee deserves a chairman who will take the job more seriously, follow the rules of the GCRP, value all of the members of the committee, and recognize that consideration of our Republican voters and their concerns should be central to everything we do,” said Lawson.

The race for GCRP Chairman will be on the Republican primary ballot in March of 2024.
